HELP RESTORE AND PRESERVE
JACKSON COUNTY MONUMENTS
The Jackson Greys were formed in 1846 as a state militia unit and on April 15, 1861, members pledged their service to become the First Michigan Infantry Company B, serving in the Civil War's first major battle, First Battle of Bull Run/First Manassas, Prince William County, Virginia, July 21, 1861.

Our primary goal is to restore, enhance, and preserve military monuments
for all those who served from Jackson County
in defense of the United States of America, 1829 to present,
beginning with the Withington Park "In Defense of the Flag"
Soldiers and Sailors Monument dedicated June 14, 1904, Flag day,
to the 2,382 men of the 1st and 17th Michigan Volunteer Infantry regiments.

For a contribution we will muster you into the
1st Michigan Infantry Company B for a term of three months, just like in 1861,
and issue a certificate that you have enlisted.
